Hi Groff/Grops/tmac.pspic Experts :-)

There is a change of functionality, having upgraded my
	groff/tmac/tmac.pspic
to the version that comes with FreeBSD 2.2-RELEASE
	( groff -v
now reports
	GNU troff version 1.10 )

`man grops' in the old & current version report:
	This macro will scale the graphic uniformly in the x and y direc-
	tions so that it is no more than width wide and height high.

But the old version did _not_ actually _do_ that, it applied an independent
scaling factor on each axis, to fill the entire specified box size,

The new behaviour does what the manual says (uniform scale factor on x & y).

I need the old behaviour, but equally, I'm sure others will see the new
behaviour as a bug fix correcting the macro to match the docs :-)
So do you think we could have a new macro please ?
So that we can have both old & new behaviour available ?  Thanks !

I'm currently invoking the old macro like this
	.PSPIC inch.eps 3.04i 0.2c R

If you don't want to make both a .PSPIC_PROPORTIONAL and a .PSPIC_FILL
(or whatever) available, &/or for me in the meantime,
I noted from man grops there was also a syntax
	\X'ps: import file llx lly urx ury width [ height ]'
which might give me what I need, but I've never got that to work 
(my lack of understanding I guess), 
+ I think it'd be nice to have both functionalities available anyway.

I can supply my complete text & environment, make macros, .eps files etc, 
but I hope I've detailed this sufficient to make that not necessary,
however I'm running fully sourced here, so can supply whatever necessary, 
please let me know if I've missed something.

I enclose a diff -c taking the latest generic tmac.pspic back to the
previous version that works fine for me.
I've not tried to understand this macro, so there's probably more than you 
want here, but at least the bits you do need are included :-)
